The following conventions have been followed in the preparation of several texts in the Mösiehuali language (Tetelcingo Nahuatl - ISO code nhg). (Exceptions such as the Āmatlapohualistli de Don Lázaro Cárdenas and ¿Tlī tiniechmojtilili? texts indicate in the text file itself what orthography is used there.)
The following table lays out the correspondences. We have only represented those cases in which there is a difference between the adopted orthography and the orthographies of Brewer & Brewer and of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).
In texts taken from Pittman (1954), we have sometimes represented another phoneme than the one that appears in that work. This has been done in contexts where the phonemes in question are neutralized, and the practice of the author or of the Brewers differed from that of Pittman. Similarly some word divisions differ from those in Pittman (1954). |
