About the Karipuna
Living in five villages, the Karipuna do Amapá occupy the Bacia
do Rio Uaçá (Amapá). The area of the Karipuna do Amapá was
marked out in '79. The Karipuna interact permanently with other
tribes and with non-indigenous peoples. They leave the area in order
to sell fish, manioc and artwork, as well as to look for work and
schooling.
