Este estudio breve muestra las
partículas preverbales de la variante del mixteco que se habla en San
Cristóbal Amoltepec
que expresan tiempo, modo y negación, con
todas sus combinaciones, utilizando el verbo ‘correr’ como ejemplo.
Dos de las partículas constan de un tono flotante, sin consonantes ni
vocales, y otras incluyen un tono flotante en su forma básica; el
paradigma muestra la manera en que estos patrones tonales se combinan con otros
elementos.

Description:
This short paper presents the preverbal particles that express tense, mode, and
negation in the Mixtec variant spoken in San Cristóbal Amoltepec, and then
takes a sample verb (run) through all possible combinations of these particles.
Two of the particles consist only of a floating tone, and others include a
floating tone in their basic form; the paradigm shows how these tone patterns are
realized in context.
