 Andrew B. Gonzalez, FSC
Former DECS Secretary and DLSU President

Dr. Andrew B. Gonzalez, was an academician and education advocate who for decades was at the forefront of improving the country's educational system. More than just a famed educator and administrator, Br. Andrew was also a distinguished linguist and prolific writer. He published extensively on language policy and research, as well as on matters of education and religion. He served as President of De La Salle University and the Manila Bulletin, as well as on numerous boards. A member of the SIL Advisory Council for thirty-three years (from 1973 until his death in 2006), Br. Andrew served as its Chairman from 1998 to 2001, concurrent with his term as Secretary of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports. | |
