Personnel
The volunteers serving with SIL Philippines come
from seventeen different nations: Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines,
Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom and United States of America.
Approximately half are engaged in linguistics,
literacy, and translation projects with members of the indigenous
cultural communities. Supporting them are pilots, teachers,
accountants, librarians, and specialists in other fields.
SIL is an international private volunteer organization founded in 1934 and serving in over fifty nations. More than 5,000 SIL volunteers from 50 different countries serve around the world. The financial support for
their work comes primarily from people who share SILs vision for
service.
