Interlinear Text

Watch the demo movies of Language Explorer 3.0, which has additional views to what is described here for Language Explorer 2.0.

The interlinear tool has three different views of your texts.

The Baseline tab allows you to enter and edit a text.

The Interlinearize tab is where the interlinear work is carried out.

The grey box shows the word that is currently being worked on. You can break up a word into morphemes, and associate each of those with a lexical entry. The interlinear tool will suggest an analysis you have previously made for a word when you encounter it again. In addition, if the morphological parser is running, it attempts to suggest the morphological breakdown of new words.

Dropdown lists display options, such as existing lexical entries, as shown below:

You can add a new entry if the entry doesn't exist yet.

You may customize which interlinear lines are showing via the Tools > Configure Interlinear... command.
Below the view has been configured to show only the Words and their Glosses and Categories:

Document view is a read-only view of the data. The lines can be configured here too (independently from the Edit view.)

Interlinear text can be exported to Word and Open Office.
