Product Overview: Backing up and Saving Versions

FieldWorks provides one-file data management of an entire FieldWorks project. A FieldWorks project is a database that stores data and text related to a particular language and the people that speak it. All FieldWorks applications, except WorldPad, can store information in a project.

Backing Up Projects

A FieldWorks project backup file is a Zip file that contains compressed files. You can back up and restore FieldWorks projects, using any of the following types of devices:

Saving Versions

In Translation Editor, a version is a collection of drafts of books of Scripture at one point in the translation process. The versions are part of the FieldWorks project. Saved versions are immediately accessible in Translation Editor, eliminating the need for large boxes of old drafts. You can save versions for one, all, or any combination of Scripture books.

In the Compare and Merge Versions window, you can do any of the following:
