SIL FieldWorks Data Notebook
Product Overview: Introduction
The SIL FieldWorks Data Notebook was developed as a data management tool for language and cultural fieldwork. It can also be used for other of data collection tasks. It facilitates the documentation, categorization, retrieval, analysis, and summarization of all qualitative aspects of the data collection task.
The Data Notebook is a database program consisting of standard entry templates with standard and customizable fields. It is driven by Microsoft’s SQL database engine and is multi-user and network capable.
A key feature of the Data Notebook is the ability to input and output any language of the world for which there are Unicode-based fonts and writing systems. See also Latest features and enhancements.
