Current Status

Version 3.0 of FieldWorks Language Explorer was released in October 2009. You can read about new features and improvements here.

Language Explorer is currently in use in over 135 language projects, and is used by over 175 people. You can read some of their comments here.

Language Explorer is being constantly improved. A new version of SIL FieldWorks is usually released at least once a year (often one corporate release and one to two stable releases.)

Demo movies made with Language Explorer 3.0 are available to view online. These allow you to preview the new version, and see the program in use. You can also download and install these movies when you download FieldWorks 6.0.

Language Explorer is a component of SIL FieldWorks and is available under the SIL Open Source License. Because this license is granted to the user for no cost, the user is not entitled to free technical support from SIL. Please send bug reports to .
