Entries for lexemes with incomplete or irregular paradigms can include data fields that list the exceptions. MDF originally provided only a limited set of data field markers for inflected forms that can be irregular (e.g., \pl for plural). Now it provides a set of general-purpose data fields:

• \pdl for the paradigm category or label (e.g., \pdl Comp)
• \pdv for the irregular paradigm form (e.g., \pdv mejor)
• \pde, \pdn, and \pdr for glosses, if desired (e.g., \pde better)

In Shoebox, you should define the appropriate set of categories as a range set for \pdl.
