Introduction

Training is the process of passing on to another person the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to do some task effectively.

In every literacy program there will be a need to train people to become effective literacy workers, teachers, and supervisors.

The kind of training required depends on

  • the type of program to be implemented,
  • the size and scope of the program, and
  • the level of existing expertise of the people available to train and be trained.

Note:

More specific information about training teachers, supervisors, and other literacy personnel will be included in future versions of the Literacy bookshelf. In the meantime, the Search Index and the query function can lead you to helpful information in online books and articles.
