Failure of many high schools in the United States to meet the needs of diverse mother tongue language students is evidenced by high dropout rates and small numbers entering higher education. Discusses six high schools successful in educating Latino minority students. Analyzing these schools and their communities, they identify factors related to successful outcomes with these students and provide direction for future research.
