| Summary | |
|
Shows current and historical involvement of the evangelical church in Ethiopia as a catalyst to combat preliteracy among rural and urban people. Literacy schools in 1988 were mostly functional-vocational oriented. Slightly over four percent of the literacy schools are for nomads in remote areas. Supervisors are church employees assigned to each literacy center dependent on the number of literacy schools in the synod. Community employs teachers (academically trained between Grades 7 and 12). Constructed reading rooms for postliteracy reinforcement. | |
