    Analysis Discover contrastive sounds of the language and their variants. Practice Use discrimination exercises to enable you to distinguish among the contrastive sounds, tones, and intonation patterns. Selective attention Pay attention to contrasts you find particularly difficult. Auditory representation Record words with troublesome sounds and play them until you remember them.
