Objectives
 

Here are some vocabulary objectives for Stage 1 for speaking:

 

    To express yes and no

  • To learn single word answers that show comprehension of what you have heard
  • To learn survival vocabulary: words you need to use in basic survival situations and common social situations, as when answering questions about yourself, getting to know people, or doing basic shopping
Strategies

  • Analysis

    Identify areas of vocabulary you want to concentrate on learning.

  • Practice

    Use techniques and activities that make you use language in meaningful, relevant contexts.

  • Memory

    Use association, key words, grouping, and structured review to help you remember vocabulary.
