Here are some functions objectives for Stage 1 for writing:

To master the writing system. This is your main objective at this stage.

• To use writing for survival functions, such as filling out forms
• To use writing to help you learn and remember vocabulary, and to acquire grammatical structures

Here is a functions strategy for Stage 1 guidelines for writing:

• Practice

  Fill out forms, such as those for opening a bank account, renting an apartment, or registering with the police. Get a language associate to correct them for you.
