Objectives

  • To be understood by sympathetic mother-tongue speakers when you create new sentences from the vocabulary and structures you know
  • To work on more fluent rhythm and intonation patterns (although you can expect pauses as you search for words)
Strategies

  • Analysis

    Record yourself and analyze your errors.

  • Practice

    Track or mimic recorded material, practicing intonation and rhythm.

  • Selective attention

    Pay attention to one aspect of a recording at a time: rhythm or intonation. Listen to yourself in comparison.
