Strategies
 

Here are some phonology strategies for Stage 3 guidelines for speaking:

 
    Analysis Isolate the sounds you still have trouble with, and the intonation and stress patterns which need improvement. Practice Record and compare yourself with a language associate (LA), continue to listen a lot and check your pronunciation. Selective attention Identify a local speaker that you would like to sound like and pay attention to the intonation, stress, and pronunciation they use. Comparison Record the person you chose to imitate and use repetition on the trouble spots.

  • Use the language as much as possible in daily life

  • Track radio or TV, or a native speaker giving a speech, report, and so forth.
