Strategies
 

Here are some vocabulary strategies for Stage 3 guidelines for writing:

 
  • Analysis

    List specific topics you need or want to be able to write about. Reading about your favorite subjects is still the best way to get ready for writing.

  • Practice

    Write summaries, reviews or essays on what you read. Get a language associate (LA) to check what you write to see if you are using the vocabulary correctly.

  • Selective attention

    Get a LA to write an essay on the same topic as you are writing, then compare and learn from the differences. Suggested topics appear in the techniques listed below.
