Playing literacy games

Play is an important aspect of learning. Use games as an enjoyable way for people to learn literacy concepts.

• Adapt games to fit the cultural and educational situation in which you use them.
• Make game cards and other materials to suit the game and the situation, or use natural materials for game pieces.
• Be careful to use competitive games only when competition is appropriate. You may have to adapt some games to encourage participation rather than competition.

4. Play literacy Bingo.
5. Play the Snap game.
6. Play the "Ispy" game.
7. Play the "I am going on a trip" game.
