Using activities to develop fluent readers

Developing reading fluency is necessary in order for a person to read at a speed where understanding and enjoyment is maintained.

To become fluent readers, learners must hear fluent reading and develop good word attack skills.

There are many activities that can help develop reading fluency.

• Use neurological impress activiies.
• Use repeated reading.
• Use language experience activities.
• Use cued reading.
• Use tape assisted reading.
• Use gourp dynamic reading.
• Use shared reading.
• Use lap readingfor young children.
• Use sustained silent reading.
