Summary

A Sourcebook for Literacy Work was originally contracted by UNESCO as a short, accessible, all-in-one guide to low- and mid-level literacy practitioners in developing countries. Specifically, this book was designed to give the reader a complete, overall picture of a literacy program along with concrete suggestions and hints on how to develop and manage such programs. The book was consciously written in practical English and contains a minimal amount of theory or other esoterica. While it proved challenging, if not impossible, to achieve the original goal, the book is, nonetheless packed full of useful information on how to plan and carry out a literacy program.

This book is available from SIL International Publications.
