534m4: Hourglass drum |
| Description | |
|
The hourglass drum, or waisted drum, is shaped like an hourglass. Most often these drums have two heads (one on each end) which are laced on. The laces are squeezed while the drum is played to alter the tension on the drum heads and create different pitches. | |
