Printing on fabric

Printing on fabric with a silk-screen printer is similar to printing on paper with a silk-screen.

Guidelines
 

Here are some guidelines to follow when you print on fabric:

 
  • Print quickly so that the ink does not dry and ruin the fabric screen.
  • Keep the screen moist with ink.
  • Keep the screen out of the sun.
Steps
  Follow these steps to print on fabric :
 
  1. Position the prepared screen centrally on the smooth fabric or shirt.
  2. Dispense ink generously onto the screen. .

  3. Hold the screen down firmly.
  4. Lightly spread ink over the design with the applicator.

    Tip:

    Firmly pull the applicator over the design several times until it is clear that the ink has covered all desired spots on the fabric.

  5. Hold the fabric in place while you carefully remove the screen.
  6. Touch up any spots not well covered with ink. Use match sticks, toothpicks, or cotton swabs while the ink is still wet.
  7. Put the fabric somewhere safe to dry.
  8. Repeat the process.
