Introduction
 

What type of literacy program is most appropriate for your situation? Many issues have to be considered in answering this question. These issues can be characterized as soft issues and technical issues.

 

As you prepare to plan your literacy program, the Literacy bookshelf will help by

 
  • identifying and explaining both technical and soft issues and indicating some of the implications for your program planning, and
  • providing a Literacy program type advisor to help you decide what technical type of program is most appropriate for your situation. It will also alert you to some of the soft issues you will encounter in determining the shape of your program.
