Evaluating literacy program plan completeness

by Stephen L. Walter

Introduction

In making your literacy program plan, have you overlooked anything or left anything out?

This question is hard to answer. Often the answer can only be learned after the program has started and you have a chance to evaluate progress.

There are, however, some theoretical models you can consult to help you determine if you have considered everything in your program planning.

Things to do
Here are some things to do when you evaluate the completeness of your literacy program plan:

  • Review the program design you are using to determine that you have a complete system.
  • If any area or subsystem seems to be weak or missing, work with a consultant to determine what needs to be done.
