Summary

Developed a transition course for Dan people literate in French whereby they learn to read their own language, in four or five lessons. The course can be taught in two or three days. Begins with a stripping process that explains rules of French orthography which do not apply to Dan orthography. Uses tone awareness drills and tone pattern recognition exercises.

Teaches Dan vowels and consonants, with an explanation of how they differ from French vowels and consonants and concludes with specific orthography rules.
