Summary
 

Discusses the need to train scribes for oral literature, and the need for potential writers and editors of original material in the Atzera language. Organized a five-day course for literacy instructors and other interested people. Fourteen students participated. Course had the following aims:

 
  • To develop skills of technique (as needed by scribes and editors)
  • To develop skills of perception
  • To develop skills of story writing
 

Students wrote facts as well as stories, and each produced two books about local birds. They learned about note taking, planning, paragraphing, rereading and rewriting; also two men studied editing.
