Gives classroom teachers direction to approach reading from a comprehension-centered point of view. Can be used effectively to develop an individualized reading program in a remedial classroom.

 

Part 1 is theoretical. Presents the psycholinguistic or whole language philosophy, explains how each lesson is developed, and how to use the book.

 

Part 2 outlines specific strategy lessons.
