Calls for reexamination of some premises used in standard orthography choice, such as "writing must be representative of speech." Describes some psycholinguistic aspects of reading and how to apply them to orthography design.

Evaluation
 

Is well written and a very scholarly work; a little technical but is well worth reading. Has new insight and is a call away from traditional forms.
