| Summary | |
|
Reports on the Narak mother tongue literacy program of Papua New Guinea. SIL literacy workers taught classes until some of the students were able to learn for themselves. Literacy workers largely designed and prepared materials to be self-teaching. Workers depended heavily on successful readers who were willing to listen and assist new readers. The people did not have much motivation for reading and some showed open opposition to it. | |
