Summary
	In the 1970s, after a lapse in mother tongue literacy, an SIL team prepared a three-primer series based on the so-called Gudschinsky method. Was an eclectic method combining the insights of linguistically-based reading approaches used by SIL members for preliterate people in many remote areas of the world.
	Gudschinsky's method was also successful in helping a substantial number of Kaugel people become literate in their mother tongue.
