Okezie 1975

Summary

Discusses problems in establishing orthography and deals with sociolinguistic aspects of language planning for the Igbo in Nigeria. Uses computerized systems for Protestant, Catholic, and official government people. Has a low-prestige view of written Igbo. Compares problems of prestige and power versus number in dialect differences.

Evaluation

Is not a particularly helpful article for orthography but does cite interesting case example of orthography reform. Is not a really useful article for alphabet considerations.
