Summary
	After some 30 years in the Philippines, (SIL) literacy programs experienced many alterations. Evolved from a "do what you think is best" philosophy to programs that are fairly structured and systematically controlled. Is not meant to give a detailed history of this evolution but describes the present situation in terms of philosophical base and current directions.
