What are preprimer materials?

Preprimer materials are literacy materials designed to teach reading readiness skills to people who have had little or no exposure to reading and writing.

Preprimer materials may be

• the beginning section of a primer
• a separate book
• materials used with appropriate reading readiness activities, or
• teaching aids.
