What is a program technician?

 

Definition
 

A program technician in a language program is a person who does any of the following tasks:

 
  • Language analysis
  • Literacy supervision
  • Literacy consultation
  • Translation
 
Note:

A language program can have technical roles other than those listed above.

Discussion
 

Program technicians should network particularly with

 
  • similar technical personnel in other programs, and
  • those who need to understand the technical basis of program decisions.
