Stapling a book together

You can bind a book by stapling the pages together. Binding books by stapling them is relatively easy and economical. You can staple them at the side or in the center.

• Leave plenty of room on the inside edge of the pages (the gutter margin ) for the staples when you side-staple a book.
• Leave more stapling room for thicker books.
• Use a heavy-duty stapler for thick books.
• Use a long arm stapler or saddle stapler for center-stapling.
• If you do not have one, let a print shop do the stapling for you, or use a regular stapler.
