The big picture in literacy

This section gives you some very general information about the facts and figures of illiteracy in today's world. Such information provides perspective and data for writing reports and proposals.

For the SIL user, the section on "literacy in SIL" is useful in answering some of the basic policy questions you are likely to encounter in planning or implementing a literacy program.
