Refugees want to attain sufficient skill in English to be employable, to converse with Americans, and to understand what their children are doing in US public schools.

Refers to James Asher's total physical response materials and to Caleb Gattegno's Silent Way method (color coding). Includes a history of the people, describes their language, and adds workbook-type prereading exercises.
