Training

SIL is involved in training in various ways and at various levels. At the local level, SIL entities take part in workshops focussing on a particular problem or issue, e.g. analyzing the tone systems in a cluster of languages. Participants at such a workshop might include expatriate language researches or mother tongue speakers, or more likely, a combination of both. In more formal academic settings, SIL partners with accredited institutions to provide training in various aspects of linguistics and related fields. For further information, see here.
