SIL Australia training

SIL Australia

Kangaroo Ground, Victoria, Australia

SIL Australia training aims to train intercultural workers in the areas of language and culture learning, linguistics, translation, literacy, survey and Scripture engagement for various language related roles. SIL Australia (SILA) is committed to providing flexible, accredited courses, while at the same time encouraging spiritual resilience so as to establish strong foundations for service in a variety of local or international contexts.

SILA offers both undergraduate and graduate level studies, accredited through partner organisations. SILA also offers a non-accredited Summer School (January/February) which provides necessary skills and confidence for those who need to learn another language or plan to work cross-culturally. The degree programs (from one to three years in length) are for those planning to serve in a language development role in translation, linguistics, literacy, survey, or language documentation.

SILA’s programs are delivered full-time or part-time face-to-face. A number of subjects are available by distance.

SIL Australia is situated in the north-east, idyllic green wedge of Melbourne city.  Melbourne is a truly multicultural city with a huge variety of people groups from all round the world.
