Date:
2010
Extent:
10 pages
Abstract:
In this paper I examine a number of common words borrowed from Tok Pisin, in particular those used for specified locations such as city, town, village, station, district, ward, province and country.
Description:
I have used Jerusalem and Ukarumpa as metaphors to illustrate how the Kewa people (and others) borrow words from Tok Pisin and form concepts based on their cultural experiences.
