From Introduction: This is the first alphabetical dictionary published for the Hopi language. It is a first step in filling a long-felt need for reference works in support of the growing body of printed Hopi literature, including a number of bilingual readers and the Christian New Testament. This dictionary should be an aid in the preservation and understanding of the Hopi language, and should be of considerable value to all those interested in the Hopi language and related Indian cultures.
Includes appendixes on Hopi phonoloogy, grammar and loan words. Jonathan Ekstrom (SIL) is co-author of the grammatical appendix.
