This is both a diachronic and synchronic study of vowel changes caused by second consonant (C₂) loss in Boma-Nzikou. Data for comparative analysis is taken from Proto- Bantu (PB) reconstructions and the following varieties of Teke: Tege/Teke-Alima (B71), Ngungwel (B72), Tyee (B73d), Boma-Nzikou (B74), Ibali (B75), Kukuya (B77a), and Fuumu/Wuumu (B77b).
