Abstract:
This paper describes the dialect situation of the Mussau-Emira language of Papua New Guinea. There are currently four dialects, three very similar dialects on Mussau Island, and one on Emira. Material is currently being produced in the Southern Mussau dialect, which should be adequate for the three Mussau dialects, but we recommend that the Emira dialect should use separate literature due to significant differences.
