SIL's dedication to language development past and present
This 1994 survey was meant to supplement the 1992 work by Tim Girard: A Sociolinguistic Survey of the Werizoid [Gawwada] Dialect Chain. The goals of the survey were (a) to gather information about language use in the Gawwada and Diraasha areas, and (b) to reassess the status of the smaller Cushitic groups on the fringes of this area: Birayle (Ongota), Irbore (Arbore), and Tsamay - as well as Bussa (Muusiye). The report includes word lists of Diraasha and Muusiye in both phonemic and phonetic transcriptions.
