Rapport d’enquête sur le natioro

This report concerns the Natioro survey conducted during March 1994 and February 1996 by Béatrice Tiendébéogo and Tasséré Sawadogo.

The objectives of this survey were the following:

1. Collect demographic and socioeconomic on the Natioro;
2. Identify the dialects of Natioro;
3. Determine the level of bilingualism in Jula of the Natioro;
4. On the one hand, obtain information on their attitudes toward their mother tongue, and on the other toward Jula;
5. Determine if Natioro and Wara are related, and if so, to what degree;
6. Determine if there is a need for translation.

The Natioro use the term Samukune as the name for their language. The name Natioro was given to them by other ethnic groups such as the Jula and the Senoufo.

Word lists are included for both the Natioro and the Wara.

L'enquête natioro qui fait l'objet de ce rapport a été menée au cours des mois de mars 1994 et février 1996 par Béatrice Tiendébéogo et Tasséré Sawadogo.

Les Objectifs de cette enquête étaient les suivants:

1. Collecter des informations démographiques et socio-économiques sur les natioro;
2. Identifier les dialectes du natioro;
3. Déterminer le niveau de bilinguisme en jula des natioro;
4. Avoir des informations sur leurs attitudes envers la langue maternelle d'une part et le jula comme langue seconde d'autre part;
5. Chercher à savoir si le natioro et le wara sont apparentés et si oui à quel degré;
6. Déterminer s'il y a un besoin de traduction.

Les natioro désignent par le terme Samukune le nom de leur langue. Le terme le nom "natioro" est celui donné par les autres groupes ethniques tels les Jula et les Senoufo.
