There have been 2 previous Dobu dictionaries published before this one - an extensive and comprehensive one done by the Rev. J. Dixon and a school dictionary put out the the Rev. R.V. Grant. This dictionary in its present form relies heavily on the work of these two men, whose work is gratefully acknowledged. Dobu has been written since 1891 and there have been various changes in spelling since then.
