from Preface: The present volume is an outgrowth of RELC Course 207, a four-month specialized advanced certificate course in "Translation in Southeast Asia: Problems, Techniques, and Procedures." Coordinated by Prof. Dr. Franz Eppert of the RELC professional staff in 1980, the course was largely conducted by translation experts from Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, Japan and New Zealand. The teaching and advisory staff included all of the authors of the ten papers in this volume.
