FLEx (FieldWorks Language Explorer) is a feature-rich program for dictionary compilation, text analysis, cultural observations and morphological grammar testing.

LEXICON

  • Huge set of built-in fields specifically supporting lexical work; usually only see fields you want to use. Five types of customs fields.
  • Highly configurable Dicitonary-style view showing the flexibility of output from the lexical entry fields.
  • Switch effortlessly any time between root-based and stem-based dictionary layouts: complex forms change from being subentries with referencing minor entries to major entries.
  • Set up "publications" and choose which entries appear in which publication. Switch between publications in Dictionary View. Homograph numbers adjust automatically depending on entries included in a publication.
  • Add words under a semantic domain to create entries rapidly (See RapidWords.net). Dictionary (index) where entries are grouped by Semantic Domain.
  • Powerful bulk editing tools save hours (or weeks) of repetitive work.
  • Export Dictionary to wide variety of formats using Pathway.

  • Previous most-commonly used analysis suggested when word recurs.
  • Optional use of morphological parser to suggest analyses for new words based on data in Lexicon and Grammar areas.

FLEX 8.0 (Beta) supports mutiple users colloborating on one project via a Send/Receive feature, which includes intelligent merging of work.
